Available on a discursive digital platform — with its own “archive” — this press release published four months prior to the opening of the second International Biennial of Contemporary Art of Seville (BIACS 2, October 26, 2006 – January 15, 2007) engages critically with the then available information on the forthcoming event. More specifically, the communiqué is a critical response to the text that the Biennial’s curator, Okwui Enwezor, had read out at ARCOMadrid and which he was going to repeat at Art Basel. Paraphrasing Giorgio Agamben, the PRPC defined BIACS 2 as confirming that “there is no better temple for capitalism than the art museum space contemplated and consumed by hordes of tourists”.
