The art historian, Josefina Álix, summarises the debate on the ownership of the painting, which took place after the death of Pablo Picasso, and concludes that Guernica belongs, without doubt, to the Spanish state. She encloses different documents and letters from Pablo Picasso, Jacqueline Picasso, William Rubin and correspondence from different departments of the government of the Second Republic from 1938.
